PETFusion 2.0 is an all-in-one PET bottle recycling and filament manufacturing unit designed to transform discarded plastic bottles into high-quality 3D printing filament. The concept focuses on creating a compact and efficient machine that combines recycling and filament production into a single integrated system.
The design emphasizes accessibility, allowing small workshops, makers, and home users to recycle PET bottles and produce usable filament locally. By integrating multiple functions within one machine, PETFusion 2.0 simplifies the recycling workflow while reducing space requirements and operational complexity.
The system is designed to be compact, efficient, and environmentally conscious, bringing industrial-style recycling capabilities into smaller workspaces.

The main challenge in this project was designing a machine that could integrate multiple processes — PET bottle recycling, filament extrusion, and filament cutting — into a single compact structure. Achieving this required careful mechanical layout and component organization.

The final result is a compact and visually clear mechanical design of the PETFusion 2.0 recycling system. The model demonstrates how PET bottles can be efficiently converted into usable 3D printing filament within a single machine.
The project highlights the potential of combining sustainability and engineering design, presenting a concept that promotes plastic waste reduction while supporting local filament production for 3D printing users.
